But then the same applies to your accounts on social networks why some people are so shabby about their page pictures. This Blog post will help you to understand how and what about pictures on various social networking sites. You need not have photo editing tools even simple crop tool can help. Enjoy!

Before we start;

  • Your images should be seen in full, not half-cut face of eye unless you are frenzy.
  • Don’t use very low resolution images in which you appear blur or face at a long distance
  • You are Beautiful and should be seen as you are so upload latest pics of yours on profile not antic ones.
  • Your image should cover at least 75% of the total bracket.

Most famous, most used, most preferred sharing site.

  • Cover image
  • Tab app image (fan page)
  • Highlight status update or image
  • Shared photo

Profile image & Cover image

Upload a square image preferably of size 180pixels X 180 pixels but the actual display will be 160px X 160px.

With Cover photo you can be creative and make the most of it as it is a larger image. Like first look creates an impression about a person, your cover photo look will create an impression about you. Don’t put offers or costing of anything as facebook laws don’t permit that. 851px wide X 315px tall with size less than 100kb will give you best results. Also understand that lower left corner will be behind your profile picture hence choose wisely that.

Tabs Apps image on fan page 111px X 74px

Shared photo on your fan page timeline 403px X 403px

Highlight status update image 843px X 403px

Used by celebrities and personalities all over the world. Microblogging site. Real time reactions.

This image size is 48px X 48px.

The profile image will be seen when people are not logged in twitter and see your profile at that time the image will appear to be 128px X 128px.

Twitter Header image is the best you can think of. It’s your visiting card. Your header image will have your profile image at center, your twitter handle below it and your bio below that. Looks lovely if used right match of header and profile image.

Image size should be 1252px X 626px. From September 2012 twitter has changed look to match facebook timeline with image size 520px X 260px with maximum file size of 5mb. Twitter adds a black gradient to you header image. Make it contrast to your background image.

Background image

The important part of your background is your left side which is visible throughout. The centre part is covered by tweets. Ideal background image should be 1600px X 1024px.

If your header is with a lot of colors you can be simple with the background image to give it uplift and if header is plain you can make full use of background image.
